ଘ(੭*ˊᵕˋ)੭ Nº254 Why No Fly 🚫 ✈️
Good evening!
I am smoked from racing on the track yesterday & cyclocross today! Whew! I also made some stops over the weekend to hand out BFF programs too! Less than 3 weeks away!
Preparing for this issue, I read about Dick Proenneke, who lived alone in the Alaskan wilderness for 30 years. He had a cabin that he built himself and had no running water or electricity. No phone to call for help & no neighbors to check on him. He got most of his food from the land and the animals on it.
It may be a stretch but themes of the week’s issue seem to have stemmed naturally from Dick’s DIY ethos: moments of silence to counteract your daily hustle-bustle (his was a mega moment of silence!), railing gainst maximization, the dying ability to work on one’s own bike & even striving to fly less as described by Adventure Syndicate below.
Nearly none of us can move to the mountains for 30 years like Dick, but maybe this issue can be a reminder to unplug however before you go insane and, when you can, grab a train instead of a car or plane!
thank you for reading & wishing you a great week ahead,
Jon
